Chipchura joins in Canadiens

Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced on July 11 that they have signed forward Kyle Chipchura to a one-year contract. In 2007-08, Chipchura led the Hamilton Bulldogs to the first Calder Cup Championship, scoring 13 points and 20 penalty minutes in 22 AHL contests.

Last season Chipchura registered 3 points and 5 penalty minutes in 13 regular games with the Canadiens. He also got 35 points with 65 penalty minutes in 51 AHL games. Besides, Chipchura acted as a captain of Canada’s gold-medal squad at the 2006 World Junior Championship and led the team with four goals in six games.
